Travelling by flights
Earlier, travelling to long distances was a hassle due to
lack of appropriate means of transportation, people faced a lot of
difficulties, as they could not find the convenient source of travelling. With
the advancement of technology and the introduction of airplanes people could
heave a sigh of relief. Travelling through airlines is preferred by most of the
people as it is convenient, comfortable and travelling to any destination was
reduced to a few hours.
Business men and many other people who have to travel for
an emergency or for a vacation they preferred to travel by airplane as the
travelling time is reduced considerably. For flying through airplane, all you
need to do is book a flight ticket from your preferred airlines. There is
government as well as private airlines that travel on a regular basis to every
zonal area of India and abroad. Before commencing your journey; make sure that
all your things are packed properly and it meets the weight capacity of the
airlines. The most important thing which you should do prior to leaving for the
airport, is to check PNR status of your booked ticket, in order to know whether
flight is on-time or it's time schedule is changed or it delayed.
Internet advantage for travelling
In this internet
age, all kind of travel information is there on the computer screen. Online
reservation is clearly being preferred by everyone since it saves time, money
and effort. Most domestic and international airlines now have their authentic
online website which gives multiple options for cheap airline ticket
reservation to suit your special travel needs. Since airline reservation has
become online, it is a matter of few minutes in which you can make any airline
enquiry.
The official
website of many airlines provides relevant information regarding the airlines
status. While sitting on your computer desk you can log on and directly check
airline status from the net.
If you want to
know everything about your flight, just log in to PNR Status of the airlines
and details would be in front of your screen. PNR Status enquiry is the best
way of gathering the confirmation about your flight. So when you fly with any
Airlines, you should check the airline PNR Status before flying. The PNR number
is provided to you at the time when you purchase the ticket and is useful in
making airline PNR enquiry. One of the benefits of PNR Number is that it is not
necessary to carry your ticket. If you have your PNR confirmed with you, it
gives you the added advantage that you can instantly board the plane. Visit the
official website of your Airlines and enter your PNR number, so that you have
all the correct information about your flight and have a comfortable journey.
PNR queries
PNR is a short
name used to reference the Passenger Name Record, which is associated with a
particular flight ticket booked by any airways. The PNR number is usually
located at the top of your ticket and it can be used to check the current
booking status of your flight tickets. The PNR number is associated with a
ticket, not with the number of passengers. A single PNR can store the
information of multiple passengers in the same ticket.
1. Enter your PNR
number in the given field.
2. Click on “Get
Status” button to check your PNR status.
3. Status will
appear on screen
Once your ticket
gets confirmed, you will see the confirmation symbol in the status.
In the airline and travel industries, a passenger name record (PNR) is a record in the
database of a computer reservation system (CRS) that contains the itinerary for
a passenger, or a group of passengers travelling together.
Check Flight PNR Status
When you book a
flight ticket from any of above airlines or any other airline, you are given a
Flight PNR number in your ticket similar to Railways PNR number, which can be
used to check and confirm the current status of your booked ticket. You can
easily check the PNR status of your flight ticket here on this website or on
the official website of the particular airlines.
In the airline and travel industries, a passenger name
record (PNR) is a record in the database of a computer reservation system (CRS) that contains the itinerary for a passenger, or a
group of passengers travelling together. The concept of a PNR was first
introduced by airlines that needed to exchange reservation information in case
passengers required flights of multiple airlines to reach their destination (“interlining”). For this purpose, IATA and ATA have
defined standards for interline messaging of PNR and other data through the
"ATA/IATA Reservations Interline Message Procedures - Passenger"
(AIRIMP). There is no general industry standard for the layout and content of a
PNR. In practice, each CRS or hosting system has its own proprietary standards,
although common industry needs, including the need to map PNR data easily to
AIRIMP messages, has resulted in many general similarities in data content and
format between all of the major systems.
When a passenger books an itinerary, the travel
agent or travel website user will create a PNR in the computer reservation
system it uses. This is typically one of the large Global Distribution Systems, such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Travelport (Apollo, Galileo, and Worldspan) but
if the booking is made directly with an airline the PNR can also be in the
database of the airline’s CRS. This PNR is called the Master PNR for the
passenger and the associated itinerary. The PNR is identified in the particular
database by a record locator.
PNR information on portal
When portions of the travel are not provided by the
holder of the Master PNR, then copies of the PNR information are sent to the
CRSs of the airlines that will be providing transportation. These CRSs will
open copies of the original PNR in their own database to manage the portion of
the itinerary for which they are responsible. Many airlines have their CRS
hosted by one of the GDSs, which allows sharing of the PNR.
The record locators of the copied PNRs are
communicated back to the CRS that owns the Master PNR, so all records remain
tied together. This allows exchanging updates of the PNR when the status of
trip changes in any of the CRSs.
Although PNRs were originally introduced for air
travel, airlines systems can now also be used for bookings of hotels, car rental, airport transfers, and train trips.
We have tried to provide the basic information
regarding PNR for making your travel easy, get updated and informative!!!
